ICASA service scaled down but still available

- Advertisment -

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) has scaled down its operations. Most ICASA staff will be working remotely.

During this period, applications for type-approval certifications should be submitted to https://online.icasa.org.za. All consumer-related queries must be sent to consumer@icasa.org.za, while all other enquiries must be sent to info@icasa.org.za or to a relevant individual within ICASA for their attention.

During the period of lockdown, there may be ICASA staff members who will be required to attend to business at the office, either to ensure business continuity of essential services of ICASA or to ensure continued provision of critical services to key stakeholders. These include, amongst others, employees in critical positions such as those investigating radio frequency interference cases.

ICASA says it has been inundated with calls from the public about the submission of pre-registrations for community broadcasting services. “We would like to reiterate that the closing for such pre-registration has been extended from 31 March 2020 to 30 April 2020. ICASA will continue to communicate any developments through our different channels, including the website and social media.”
