Cypress parts join Infineon portfolio

- Advertisment -

EBV Elektronik, an Avnet company. is now supplying key products from Cypress Semiconductor’s portfolio, following the acquisition of Cypress Semiconductor Corporation by Infineon Technologies AG earlier this year. The Infineon range available from EBV now includes the Cypress family of programmable system-on-chip (PSoC) solutions, the TraveoTM MCU family based on Arm® Cortex®-R5, and connectivity components from the IoT compute and wireless business unit, as well as a range of high-performance flash and RAM memory devices.

The acquisition, which positioned Infineon as one of the world’s top ten semiconductor manufacturers, now gives EBV customers access to a comprehensive portfolio of proven hardware, software and security solutions for the connected age. This, in turn, will strengthen EBV’s customers’ position in their end markets and enable growth, especially in the automotive, industrial and IoT sectors.

As a franchised partner of Infineon Technologies, the scope of products offered by EBV encompasses power semi-conductors, automotive micro-controllers, sensors and security solutions. The Cypress products complement this portfolio, adding the popular and unique PSoC, TraveoTM and FMx MCU families, along with its highly specialised memory products based on NOR, SRAM and F-RAM technology, optimised for high-growth applications.

“This expansion of our Infineon range to incorporate Cypress parts is a simple adjustment to our longstanding partnership that will deliver commercial and technology benefits to customers throughout Europe,” said Thomas Staudinger, Senior Vice President, Sales & Demand Creation at EBV Elektronik. “Our technical sales and application specialists are experts in complex semi-conductor technologies, and they will continue to provide the in-depth engineering support that our customers value and expect from us.”

Mathias Roettjes, Head of Distribution Partner Management EMEA at Infineon, commented: “EBV is a trusted franchised partner in Europe, and our existing relationship, along with our combined technical know-how of semi-conductor technologies and the industry at large, will ensure a smooth transition for existing Cypress customers and an assurance of continued high quality of service for customers old and new.”
