KeyTec, a disruptive fleet tech start-up, has partnered with LocoNav to capture the emerging and high growth video telematics market throughout Africa. The company plans to disrupt the fleet telematics industry and replace most low end tracking systems with affordable and advanced fleet management solutions.
Telematics is used throughout the world to manage complex networks of delivery vehicle fleets. With the appropriate technology, anyone can use a GPS to monitor their fleets and shipments which, in turn, increases efficiency.
LocoNav delivers a single platform to run and manage all fleet operations with ease. Its end-to-end solution helps fleet owners save money by maximising the efficiency of their assets, thereby increasing the productivity of their fleet. LocoNav provides a transparent, authentic and reliable means for customers to stay updated with their fleet operations anytime, anywhere.
KeyTec CEO Michael Roberts says this fleet tech is reshaping modern logistics, helping drivers and fleet owners run their vehicles more efficiently and more economically. "We are excited to partner with LocoNav, the world’s fastest-growing fleet tech company.”
This game changing technology is already used in more than half a million vehicles and fleet owners across 30 countries, using AI to help them manage their fleet operations, keep a watch on performance and improve efficiency.
"We are a talented group of entrepreneurs with ground-breaking tech designed to contribute towards a better tomorrow. We provide smart solutions for companies of all sizes and pride ourselves on our unparalleled, dedicated service. At KeyTec we believe that the right understanding and technological edge can lead companies towards a successful future," he adds.
According to a Berg Insight report, the market for video telematics is expected to grow from 2020 to 2025 by 22% (adding 3.2 million subscribers) in just Europe and North America. In-cab cameras fixed in vehicles collect visual video evidence or data, and are also a tool for driver safety, insurance claims and driver training.
The study also found that video telematics (dash-cams) can reduce collisions by 65% and accident costs by 75%. These are just some of the reasons why fleet managers of all fleet sizes are adopting this technology.
LocoNav co-founders Shridhar Gupta and Vidit Jain added: "There are over 250 million commercial vehicles in the emerging world and less than 30% of them use any form of fleet management solutions."
“Our vision at LocoNav is to democratise access to fleet technology for all commercial vehicles in emerging markets through our AI-backed product and disruptive offerings of hardware, software and data. We are very excited to begin our journey in Africa with KeyTec and look forward to bringing safety and efficiency to commercial vehicles in Africa."
LocoNav is a powerful platform to help them organise and manage drivers and increase efficiencies, which in turn leads to lower operating costs. A driver management system is a useful tool that helps fleet owners manage their drivers; it helps track a driver’s driving style, consistency and time management.
Roberts says LocoNav also enables customers to track fuel usage and any potential theft. “You may already have fuel management, compliance and maintenance solutions for your fleet, but what about your drivers? Driver management systems can greatly benefit any commercial vehicle fleet, large or small. And there are several benefits that you will get from using it.”
Poor driving and accidents increase operational expenses, increase risks, reduce customer satisfaction and increase fuel and maintenance costs. This platform provides fleet managers with previously unseen data into poor driving habits, non-compliance and accidents.
"Implementing a driver management system allows you to have a holistic view of your drivers, their performance and the overall safety of your vehicle and assets. With LocoNav, you can get real-time data about your drivers and assets and identify areas for improvement," Roberts concludes.
